So it talks about an inner soul war that takes place in ourselves. Tanya says its like urban warfare everyday between the G-dly souls versus animal soul. So I decided to get the edge with the latest Lulav Launcher model- " the palm-inator"

Look to the East

[Cut to Exterior: Hama shouts to the people of Rohan.]

Hama
By order of the king, the city must empty. We make for the refuge of Helm's Deep. Do not burden yourself with treasures. Take only what provisions you need.

Gimli:
Helm's Deep! They flee to the mountains when they should stand and fight. Who will defend them if not their king?

Aragorn:
He is only doing what he thinks is best for his people. Helm's Deep has saved them in the past.

Gandalf:
There is no way out of that of ravine. Théoden is walking into a trap. He thinks he is leading them to safety but what he'll get is a massacre. Théoden has a strong will but I fear for him. I fear for the survival of Rohan. He will need you before the end, Aragorn. The people of Rohan will need you. The defences have to hold.

Aragorn:
They will hold.

Gandalf:

[To himself]:The Grey Pilgrim. That's what they used to call me. Three hundred lives of men have I walked this earth and now, I have no time.

[To Aragorn]:With luck my search will not be in vain. Look to my coming at first light of the fifth day. At dawn, look to the East.

Aragorn:
Go.

From Rutgers to Rebbe "The makin of a field commander"

As the years creep there emerges an existential threat to the revolution and that it denial. It's not just the demigod of ancient egypt it is the ammo that the haters arm themselves with. They claim that the daily miracles we've seen rebbe perform with our own eyes were merely slight of hand and they will soon attempt to distill rebbe through an artscroll bio the same way the rav has been yeshivishized.(note to rabbi lamm's dismay rebbe didn't print the yu emblam in an attempt to have the reshimos accepted in the velt. rebbe did this in order to get the rav's torah out there and must be commended for taking action "eis lasot you can erase the yu emblam") . In any event many a chasid's memory begins to fade as they move into modern orthodox communities and become numb to the teaching of the revolution only to be awakened with a midlife move to israel, and i thought it important to jot down some of the stories, epics, lore, legends you get the pic so they are not lost forever. I thought an appropriate place to start would be to talk about rebbe's legendary tzfat trip. For one chasid it was where it all began(hence the title of the post). On rebbe's annual midwinter trip to israel (i would appreciate help from all who remember details) Rebbe decided to take a vision quest to tzfat. He and his driver reb feivel set out along with yoni goldstein ,yona, danimal, akivah ben cannan and your humble naarator. We crammed into reb feivel's nobody knew how they got ther or why they were chosen but we all embraced the oppurtunity to make new friends and enjoy the ride. We headed out for tzfat toward evening enjoying some snacks and tunes traveling a journey of hours in only minutes. We got to a split on the highway one direction headed toward tzfat and the other was toward naharia. It was decided that we should stop in nahariah to see the famed kabbalist and grandson o the bab sali rebbe david abuchaseira. We showed up and rebbe used his protecsia to ensure a speedy audiene with the great sage. We urged rebbe to teach us some torah and comendiered a side room where rebbe gave us a shiur on mishloach manot as he feasted on bananas. I pulled out m guitar to play a niggun but was met with scowls by a hoard of sephardic jews who were waiting to share their troubles with the rebbe. We went into see rebee david and he asked us each our names and gave us a blessing. I said that my name was yitzchak eliezer and he recited the passage by yitzchak's blessing of mea shearim. We all left and rebbe remained inside alone with rebbe david. rebbe emerged 15 minutes later shared a bit of cake with all of us and said that rebbe david let him ask whatevet he wanted and his shamash refused to accept any money from rebbe. Rebbe explained this is a sign of a truly great person because he is supported by one or two rich gvirim. As we were on the way out of town it was suggested that we stop at the beach to break bread sing a bit and pray the evening service. It was pouring outside, yet when we arrived at the beach the rain suddenly stopped heralding rebbe's arrival. The water came up to meet rebbe for netilat yadayim and we broke bread and frolicked on the beach singing songs of free men. We returned to the car with our bellies full and our heads held high and no sooner then reb feival stated the car did the gates of heaven open and we were shlacked by buckets of rain. The hour was getting late and we were all certain we would not find any accomadations at this late hour in tzfat. We arrived at the hotel ron in the wee hours of the morning to find a friendly clerk behind the front desk waiting to show us to hour rooms. We drew lots to figure out who would spend the night with who I think I spent it with the akivah? others will remember the details and we settled in to a good night sleep.

Dwarves (also known as the Naugrim) are beings of short stature who all possess beards and are often friendly with Hobbits, although long suspicious of Elves. They are typically smiths and stoneworkers by profession, unrivalled in some of their arts, even by the Elves. The Dwarves called themselves the Khazâd, the name Aulë gave them; the corresponding definition in Sindarin is Hadhodrim, and in Quenya Kasári. The common words for Dwarves among the Elves were Naugrim or Nogothrim ('Stunted People'), but they were not used in actual intercourse, being substituted by Hadhodrim or Dornhoth ('Thrawn Folk').

Corleone today

Beginning in the 1960s, the town became famous (or perhaps infamous) for its Mafia, being the town in which some well-known clans had their headquarters (the Clan dei Corleonesi). One of the known mafiosi is Salvatore Riina. In 2003 there was an unsuccessful private referendum held to change the name of Corleone to its ancient name of Cuor di Leone, or Lion Heart, to shrug off its association with Mafiosi, fictional or otherwise. [1]

The most notable event in Corleone is the arrest of Bernardo Provenzano "Boss of Bosses", who was in hiding for more than 40 years. This gave rise to much celebration. "Liberation Day" on April 11 (the date of Provenzano's capture in 2006) and naming a street "11 Aprile" shows just how much the arrest has affected Corleone.

CORPORAL IZZY

Corporal Izzy learned to box in the U.S. Army. He defended his Flyweight title five times, officially retiring his crown. In fact, Izzy lost his last title fight by a 15-round decision to Willie LaMorte. However, Izzy’s manager had become the opponent’s manager the night before the match. New York State refused to recognize the bout as a championship, declaring the title vacant because of the manager’s deception.

Ups and Downs, Chodesh Tammuz

It is obvious to us all that the activity on the blog has slowed to a trickle...

Not to worry; as Rebbe teaches, spiritual energies both ebb and flow. It is not by coincidence that we have entered a period of time during which the spirit of Esav wields control - from Rosh Chodesh tammuz until Tu B'Av.

It is time to lay low - our enemies abound, and have grown confident.

Shout out to Rebbe

COMRADES,
just wanted to touch base with the blog. chi-town is being sown with revival seeds. the wind blows and it whispers...Rebbe Rebbe reeeeeeeeeebe.

I remember one time in shuir we were talking about how a hundred years ago, pictures of the Rebbes were frowned upon. the only way you could get a picture of someone like the Baal Hatanya was to put him in jail for possession of chasiduss. So- Rebbe was saying how today is different and how most Rebbe-figures encourage it- this includes Rebbe giving approval for handing out Rebbe glossies. We even talked about making Rebbe-figures. like GI joes but with Rebbish levush.

But the point that was made was that today we must use all tools in the fight for the preservation of the ruach. maybe we could get hetterim for rebbe tattoos?

Rav Wolfson said that in this messianic age, as a last dying wish, Hashem has granted the Sitra Acher reshut to go past the yidishe mezuzah and into the yidishe heim. comrades, it is a very toxic and dangerous age we live in.

Next time u are at Rebbe's for a meal or whatever try to grab a couch pillow or a tie for me. Ill pay for shipping and ill pay extra for any headwear.
much love.

From the mouth of an Alter Chosid

Here in the holy city of Yerushalayim one has the luxury of having different places where one can get in touch with the diverse energies of the tribes of Israel. If you dig the old time litfish Yerushalmi vibe then you've got to hang out in the Zichron Moshe, and in Batei Broyde in Nachlaot (the unhippified part). If you yearn for the last vestiges of authentic Shephardic spiritualty that has not yet been stamped out by the Ashkenazi/Zionist hegemony go spend time in the Musayoff Bet Knesset in Shchunat Habucahrim. But some people get that kicks davka from the pure hungarian Haimishkiet, they enjoy nothing more than praying the morning services at 11 o'clock in a minyan of men with wet beards and payos and very heavy silver Ataros and Chassidic accents, followed by herring, brandy and kokosh cake. The place for that is the Satmar Shul on rechov Yoel(!).
Now, I have some friends who fall into the last category. One of them is someone by the name of Motty who related to me the following tale. It was told to him by an octogenarian Chassidic man who davens in Satmar. This man served Tzahal back in the day and then did twenty years of Miluim (Chareidi parasites!) Once while he was a soldier he merited to attend the last tish of the Husyatiner Rebbe; a very holy Rebbe who held his court in the holy city of Tel Aviv. The Rebbe gave this yid a challa roll who proceeded to put it in his khaki knapsack. Eleven months later he was cleaning his bag for Pesach and he found this roll. It was totally fresh like the day it was given to him.

Dont Hold Back

They tell a story of a Chassid who would go to his Rebbe every year and ask for a brocha to be rich, and every year the Rebbe wouldn't give him a brocha. One year, the Chassid asks the same brocha, and the Rebbe tells him to give him 400 rubles and he will be rich. The Chassid was shocked! He wanted to be rich, not poor! So he goes back home to his wife, and tells her the news. They realize that if they want to get the 400 rubles, they need to sell their horse and buggy, their entire income. Finally, they decide to do it, since Rebbe always knows best. Once the Chassid gives the Rebbe the money, everything he touches turns to gold. He is in many businesses in a short time, and becomes a very wealthy man. Back by the Rebbe, one of his Chasidim asked: Why did you make him give you 400 rubles? The Rebbe answered that every year he asked for the same brocha: My horse should be gazunt, My horse should be healthy. How much money can you make from a horse? I realized I had to get the horse out of the picture. So I told him to give me the horse. Then, he saw his children hungry, and asked that he should be rich, and now he is.

There are many times when we ask Brochas from Hashem and restrict his answers. If we ask for our "horse" to be healthy, then we are loosing out on any other endeavors that could be blessed. May we all be zoche to not hold back with what we ask for or how we bless, and let Hashem fill in the blanks with his imagination.

Yidden-

As many of you know, I was zoche to graduate from YU this semester, and since my parents paid over $150,000.00 for that education, I was forced to go to graduation.
Surprisingly, it was a very nice ceremony, featuring a very nice address by Tim Russet, and Stan "The Man" Watson getting an award from YU. However, there was another honorary degree that went out that needs mentioning.
After Stan got his award, YU honored R' Jacob (Yaacov) Birnbaum. To be honest, right when they started the ceremony for R' Birnbaum, I put my iPod on and was not paying too much attention. But then, when they mentioned his work for soviet Jews, he received a round of applause, someone caught my eye. Who was in the front row, standing up to give "props" to R' Birnbaum? Rebbe. After seeing this, I took of my iPod and listened to the accomplishments of this amazing man. According to YU:
"Jacob Birnbaum initiated the grassroots struggle for Soviet Jewry in New York City in 1964 and laid the groundwork for a national movement that energized an entire generation of Jewish activists. He is the founder and director of the Student Struggle for Soviet Jewry (SSSJ) and other Soviet Jewry organizations. Mr. Birnbaum derives from a distinguished European Jewish family of scholars, artists and poets. These include his grandfather, Nathan, a Jewish activist and a seminal figure in early Zionism, who is credited with coining the term Zionism, and was elected to the post of Secretary General of the first Zionist Congress in 1897. His father, Solomon, was a pioneer in two areas of Jewish scholarship. Mr. Birnbaum's family fled the Nazis and settled in England. After World War II, he worked with the victims of Nazism and Soviet totalitarianism and later the troubled Jewries of North Africa. He also served as the director of the Jewish Community Council of Manchester, England. After he settled in New York City, he created a teacher and student core of Soviet Jewry activists at Yeshiva University, and went on to build a significant New York institutional Soviet Jewry infrastructure in the 1960s. This established the primacy of "Let My People Go" and then "Let My People Know (their heritage)". Today he continues his efforts to strengthen the Jewish identity of Jews from the former Soviet Union. A United States House of Representatives resolution (HRes 137) "honoring the life and six decades of public service of Jacob Birnbaum" is in the final stages of the legislative process."
I just wanted to let the Revolution know of Rebbe's support for R' Birnbaum, and recognize the amazing accomplishments of this holy Yid.
