A fine day indeed for the revolution. As combatants closed in on the 6th and I street shul for the Iowan wedding the weak hearted took cover behind the construction equipment accross the street (see photo soon to be posted). As the axes were drawn(and tuned) it was clear that this would be a simcha that would need to stay off of only simchas. As rebbe read the ketubah we were all transported back to the tannaic era and could here the bahhh of the nichsei tzon barzel echoing throughout the large sanctuary, which was supposed to be turned into a night club. Rav Shmuel blessed the young couple and the klezmer band helped get the party started. The horsdevores were plentifall (at least for those of us situated within ten feet of the kitchen door, and as bentching wound to a close rebbe took the mike and 'for a second we all felt like we were back in 309 or on second floor muss lounge on a thursday night. We all bed each other farewell with our bellies full and wishing we could here one more shevah bracha from rebbe.
